SWADELABS / DEVELOPER STATEMENT
COVER LETTER
TECHNICAL ARTIST / SYSTEMS-FOCUSED GAME DEVELOPER
Dear Hiring Manager,
I build systems that shape how a game feels, not just how it functions.
I am a Game Development student focused on technical art and gameplay systems, with hands-on experience in Unity creating modular gameplay flows, shader-driven visuals, and cinematic sequencing. My work sits at the intersection of code, presentation, and player experience.
My primary project, Tonight's Dozen, is a diner horror experience built around interconnected gameplay stations, Timeline-driven cutscenes, and responsive visual feedback systems. It received the Innovation in Technology award at the Level Up Showcase for its systems integration and technical execution.
I approach development as a systems problem. I design gameplay using Scriptable Objects to connect logic across gameplay, UI, animation, and rendering. I build interaction flows that control pacing and player attention. I focus on making technical systems readable, responsive, and expressive. In addition to development work, I currently work in hardware technical support at Niagara College, where I troubleshoot real-world systems and assist users in resolving technical issues, strengthening my ability to debug and communicate under pressure.
Beyond gameplay systems, I work with shader workflows and AI-assisted pipelines. I have built tools in Python and experimented with generation systems that prioritize variation, behavior, and iteration speed. This allows me to prototype quickly and refine ideas into something intentional.
I am looking for opportunities where I can contribute to both the technical and visual direction of a project. I value environments that care about how systems feel in the player's hands, not just how they are implemented.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Aidan "SWADE" Hasan
